Two-bed terraced house in heart of Liberties for €260,000

House could appeal to an investor – similar properties in area are renting for up to €1,400 a month

A small two-bedroom terraced house in the heart of the Liberties could appeal to an investor – similar properties in the area are renting for up to € 1,400 a month. Number six Watkins Buildings is for sale for €260,000 through agent Young's. It is a bank sale.

A 65sq m (699.5sq ft) two-up two-down built around the turn of the 20th century, number six has been a rental property. It was nicely refurbished about six years ago and is still in good condition, although the decor needs smartening up.

Open-tread stairs

The front door opens directly into the open-plan living area, a cream-painted living-room/kitchen with a polished wood floor, recessed lighting and a brick chimneybreast.

The kitchen has a polished granite countertop and a De Dietrich hob. There’s a small bedroom at the back of the kitchen, just big enough to accommodate a raised double bed with storage beneat, and a very narrow wetroom with a shower. There’s a tiny yard off the kitchen.

Up open-tread stairs – with no handrail on the livingroom side – is the bright upstairs area. There’s a coloured glass panel over the door to the upstairs bedroom, which overlooks the street outside. Unusually, there’s a window looking from here into the cream-tiled bathroom. This bedroom has built-in wardrobes.

Watkins Buildings were houses apparently built for workers in a brewery of that name on Ardee Street. Number six is just across from the bottom of Reginald Street, not far from Meath Street.
