Co Wexford: €450,000: A coastal cottage built about four years ago in Kilmore, Co Wexford has a striking architect-designed interior.

Dolores Power of Wexford Town is quoting over €450,000 for The Sty, which stands on an acre of lawn bordered by hazel, beech and hawthorn. The 149sq m (1,600sq ft) four-bedroom house is built in traditional Wexford style, with granite sills and quoins.

The interior has been put together with style. Reclaimed pitch pine floorboards came from a US cotton mill.

Pine internal doors have porcelain knobs and the kitchen features cream units with thick teak worktops.

An open fireplace in the sittingroom has a chimneybreast extending to the eaved ceiling. There is also a second sittingroom, shower room with old-style fittings and a double bedroom at this level.

Three double bedrooms with sloping ceilings are upstairs under the eaves. The largest of these includes an en suite shower and there is a separate full bathroom.

Outside, the huge lawn would be paradise for a gang of small children and there are terraces to the back and side of the house.
