Orchards at Baldonnel may yield a fruitful return

Investors looking for a punt may well be interested in 85

Investors looking for a punt may well be interested in 85.3 acres, mainly in orchard, opposite the entrance to Baldonnel Aerodrome in west Dublin which is to be sold by tender on November 24th through Hamilton Osborne King.

Although the land, known as Humphreys Orchards, is currently zoned for agricultural purposes, the agents advise that there is a good chance it will be developed in the medium to long term. Paul McNeive of HOK says the site should have direct access to the planned Outer Ring Road for which part of the site is to be compulsorily acquired. It is also planned to run a major new drain through the land. The agents are not quoting a guideline price but it is understood that adjoining fields which were landlocked have been sold for over £40,000 per acre.
