LET’S FACE it, price drops are hardly big news in the current market but when it’s a €1 million price drop it’s worth mentioning.

Back in March we featured Lismore, a big period house on Knocknacree Road in Dalkey , Co Dublin, with sea views that was then asking €3.25 million through Lisney.

It’s just been reduced to €2.25 million – which represents a 31 per cent cut.

Will we be seeing more substantial price drops like this as vendors become more realistic about what they can achieve price-wise?

Lismore was built over 100 years ago and has a veranda that wraps around the granite front of the detached house.

Fairly massive at 464sq m (4,994sq ft), with seven bedrooms and sitting on a half an acre garden, it will be interesting to see if it sells at its current price level.
