Bell family rings the changes and leaves sunny home in Dublin 15
What and where
A three-bed end-of-terrace house in a lovely estate in Castaheany, Dublin 15.
Describe the house
A large house in a sleepy cul-de-sac near a green and with a long landscaped west-facing garden which gets the sun all day.
There is an extra large open-plan kitchen/diner for those sociable chefs who like to chat while they cook.
Double doors face the garden and catch the afternoon and evening sunshine.
To the front of the house the livingroom is a good size but very cosy, with a real fire (that can be converted to gas if you prefer).
The hall is extended to the front with plenty of room for a coat stand and a telephone table if you like.
Upstairs there are three comfortable bedrooms and a large bright family bathroom. One of the bedrooms is en suite and the other bedroom is extra large.
Why are you moving?
We've got to move for work reasons. We're reluctant to leave though, because we've been very happy here - we love this house, and especially the sunny garden.
What is the best thing about the house?
The garden, because it is bigger than average and gets the sun all day long.
We've had loads of barbecues in the summer and all year we sit near the patio doors looking out and soaking up the winter sunshine.
It's very quiet too - there's practically no road noise at all.
And the neighbourhood?
We enjoy walks in nearby Phoenix Park, along the canal and the superb new wooded and hilly St Catherine's Park by the Liffey - all of these are just a couple of minutes drive away.
It is very convenient for public transport. There is an express bus into town just down the road as well as several regular buses. The train station at Clonsilla isn't far.
Ongar is a quiet 10 minutes walk away, and we love this new little village: it has a butchers, bakers, a Dunnes Stores and a lovely café, to name a few.
Who would like to live in your home?
The house would suit a first-time buyer or a family which is up from a smaller place, and looking for a lovely home that is ready to walk into.
