We live at 9 The Manor, Monasteroris, Edenderry, Co Offaly, in a bright detached four-bedroom bungalow. It is for sale for offers over €325,000.

Last year a new shopping centre (with Dunnes Stores as the anchor tenant) opened. We also have a new Tesco, Aldi and Lidl, and there are several clothes shops. We are 45 minutes away from Liffey Valley, 40 minutes from Naas and 40 minutes from Mullingar.

Describe the house

It was built in 2000 and has bay windows to the front. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a bathroom and the main bedroom has an en suite and built-in wardrobes. Downstairs there is a sittingroom, large kitchen/dining area, fourth bedroom/study, guest toilet, utility room and integral garage. The back garden has a lawn and patio.

Why are you moving?

We're off to the south of France.

What's the best thing about it?

It is a comfortable modern home and we have loved living here. It is in a very quiet cul-de-sac.

And the neighbourhood?

It is almost in the centre of the country and yet is only 37 miles from O'Connell Bridge. Punchestown, The Curragh and Naas are on our doorstep.

There is a gym and a swimming pool within walking distance and very nice walks along the canal.

There is a good golf course and lively rugby, GAA and soccer clubs. There are several restaurants including an Indian, Chinese and Italian one.

Who would like to live in your home?

It would suit families or retirees. There are two primary and two secondary schools nearby and last September a Gaelscoil opened. NUI Maynooth is 30 minutes drive away.
