PROPERTY developer Robin Power has secured planning permission to open a restaurant in the former Hansel and Gretel children clothes shop at 54 Glasthule Road, Sandycove, Co Dublin. He paid £320,000 at auction for the premises last October.

In Dublin city, the Sisters of the Holy Faith has sought permission to demolish its convent in The Coombe, Dublin 8, and to replace it with a new five-storey convent building and 40 apartments in five new blocks.

In Howth, Ellier Developments, which is controlled by Francis Rhatigan and Chris Jones, has failed to secure planning permission for 99 apartments and 10 three-storey houses on lands bounded by Howth Road, Offington Avenue and Deerpark Golf Course.
