There’s something of a retail boom in Blackrock and that’s for estate agents premises. Savills has been in the village for years, and more recently Beirne&Wise teamed up with Terry Halpenny on Carysfort Avenue, while Sherry FitzGerald took a corner site on the main street last year.

Now we see that Lansdowne Partnership has opened a new premises on the main street opposite Sherry FitzGerald and appointed Darragh Brady, formerly of Savills Blackrock, as its manager. It’s certainly a shot across the bow of the competition from Lansdowne, which until now has operated mainly a lettings business from its Baggot Street offices.

Fergal Hopkins, managing director, says the latest street presence is part of a push into the second-hand homes and lettings business in south Dublin. Janet Carroll, who worked with Savills Blackrock, has struck out on her own and is due to open new premises, also in Blackrock.
