In Howth, the Riverdance duo Moya Doherty and John McColgan have finally got planning permission for the mansion they hope to build on a four-acre site on the Baily. Their architect, Joe Doyle, is at pains to point out that only the roof of the house will be visible from the cliff walks, with almost half the house underground. The couple plan to sell their existing home, Loughlinstown House, a period house on 13 acres at Kilbride, along the Dublin-Meath border.
