Michael Roden continues his meteoric rise through the property market with the purchase of one of the best development sites in south Dublin. He recently paid around £20 million for Bank of Ireland's sports grounds at Mount Anville Road, in Dundrum. The local authorities plan to take about 10 acres of the 24 acres site for the planned northern leg of the South Eastern motorway. The carve up should leave Roden with nine acres of residential and five acres of leisure facility land. Already he has had an approach from the gymnasium empire run by David Lloyd. Roden has many irons in the fire, notably shopping centres in Belfast and commercial investments in the UK. He is also putting the finishing touches to The Warehouse, a development of loft-style apartments on Clanbrassil Street.
