Far be it from Round the Block to jump in to the licence fee fray but speaking with our property hat firmly on, it seemed timely to point out just how much money the state broadcaster is sitting on out in leafy Dublin 4 at what is known to its habitues as the RTE Campus.

This prime piece of land stretches over 35 acres which would give it a market value of #70 million. Not of course that the Minister is planning on selling off this green part of the family jewels but the thought of how many high-price houses could fit on the surplus land is a perennial topic among developers. Aside from the landscape gardens there is a staggering 840 car-park spaces- a nice free perk for the employees.
