Dublin estate agent Shane Redmond and British agent Rogers Chapman have formed a joint-venture partnership to specialise in developments adjacent to Dublin airport and other Irish airports. The Minister for the Environment, Mr Dempsey, who attended a function to launch the new company, said integrated planning for the airport and adjoining areas would produce a new, highly specialised satellite city for Dublin, with large numbers of new direct and downstream jobs and a full infrastructure that would underpin continued growth into the new millennium.

Shane Redmond noted that the blueprint produced by the new Fingal County Council provided for an extra 2,500 acres of land for a broad range of industrial, aviation, retail and commercial purposes.
