The way has been cleared for an apartment development in the grounds of Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium, in Dublin 4, after An Bord Pleanala overruled an objection from local residents.
The scheme will have 101 two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments in a three-storey block along South Lotts Road, a six-storey glass tower and a five-storey block with set back penthouse. There will be 85 spaces in a basement car-park.
Interestingly, the planning appeals board ruled that all bedrooms should be in excess of 70 sq. ft. The site is likely to be sold to developers who will have to pay a charge of £700 per unit to the Corporation.
