Sales Results: One of the most expensive houses in Dublin, Belmont, on Shrewsbury Road in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, changed hands yesterday for a figure believed to be close to the asking price of €30 million.
Tom Day of Lisney, who handled the private treaty sale, refused to be drawn on the price yesterday, though he reported busy viewings of the property which went on the market just one month ago.
The rambling Tudor-style house, which was built for a wealthy shipping family in the early 1900s, stands on two-thirds of an acre of immaculate grounds that include an indoor heated swimming-pool. It stands directly opposite Walford, the house on 1.8 acres which fetched a bid of €58 million earlier this year.
