The ninth annual RIAI Simon Open Door has been announced by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland and the Simon Communities of Ireland.

The public can log on to simonopendoor.ieto book a one-hour consultation with the RIAI architect of their choice in return for a €50 donation to the Simon. All architects give their time free of charge and every cent raised goes to the charity.

This year, the event takes place on May 11th and 12th.

At the launch were architect and presenter of RTÉ’s Room to Improve Dermot Bannon and the head of development at Simon Communities Ireland Patrick Quinn, along with six-year-old Ava O’Dwyer and five-year-old Alex Campbell.
