One of the latest city centre schemes – and they remain few and far between – has hit its target market of buyers for centrally located apartments on the nose.
Oxmanstown Lofts, a Smithfield development by a third generation of Cosgrave builders, sold out following its weekend launch three weeks ago.
The Dublin Loft Company, as the Cosgrave’s venture is known, launched a five-storey building comprising 15 apartments and a coffee shop at Smithfield Square in Dublin 7, with prices for two- and three- bedroom apartments ranging from €320,000 to €425,000.
According to selling agent Hooke & MacDonald all units were sold by Sunday afternoon.
Mark and Andrew Cosgrave, sons of Peter Cosgrave, have now turned their attentions to their latest project, another city centre development, this time in the ultra-cool location of Dublin docklands on Hanover Street East, beside Grand Canal Dock. The "Hanover Lofts" will again comprise 15 apartments and they are due to be completed by spring 2017. It will be interesting to see how the price point compares when this new batch hits the market.
What will the premium be for a “Googleland” property by then, compared with similar in Dublin 7?
