Dublin 6/1.6m: When people who grew up in a certain area are falling over each other to move back there, there's bound to be a lot of interest.

One such area is South Hill, a pocket of 1950s semis off Dartry Road, where number 74 - a four-bed of 141sq m (1,525sq ft) - is scheduled for auction on May 11th with Douglas Newman Good quoting an advised minimum value (AMV) of €1.6 million.

An aluminium porch leads into a big square hall, with a breakfastroom ahead leading to a kitchen. The units are dated but there is scope to integrate these rooms and make a good kitchen/diningroom.

To the left, off the hall, is a sittingroom with sliding wooden doors to the diningroom which in turn has French doors to the back garden. This very large, south-facing garden is one of the main attractions of the property, especially as it occupies a corner site and new owners might, subject to planning permission, build a second house. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and two singles, with a shower room and separate toilet, and a hot press. There is also access to the attic.
