Ashbourne from €340,000:Twenty-five new three and four-bed houses at the Churchfields development in Ashbourne, Co Meath come to the market this weekend, writes Fiona Tyrrell

Joint selling agents Hooke & MacDonald and Tormey Lee will be taking bookings this weekend at show units on site at a scheme beside the Ashbourne town centre.

Called Churchfields, the scheme is being developed by Kealahill Homes, a locally-based builder. Last October's launch was one of the success stories of the autumn, with over 100 houses sold, many to first-time buyers.

A combination of keen starting prices and a good package of extras ensured strong sales.

Prices are slightly more expensive than when the scheme first came to the market. Three-bedroom houses of 97sq m (1,045sq ft) start at €340,000. When they were first launched these houses were priced at €335,000.

Four-bedroom houses laid out over three floors with 151sq m (1,625sq ft) cost from €435,000. Last time around smaller four-bedroom houses with 144sq m (1,535sq ft) were priced from €390,000. Construction is well advanced and houses on sale this week will be ready for occupation between now and October.

Finish at Churchfields is impressive and well above the average on offer at new homes schemes pitched at first-time buyers.

Houses have cream timber contemporary kitchens, with integrated appliances, black granite worktops and Spanish porcelain tiles.

Livingrooms have limestone and marble fireplaces in the semi-detached houses and townhouses.

Bathrooms have baths with water jet features.

Buyers at Churchfields will receive free social membership to the newly built Donaghmore/Ashbourne GAA Club.

Facilities at the club include playing fields, an indoor arena, function room, gym, bars and meeting rooms.

Ashbourne has experienced significant population growth in recent years. The Ashbourne town centre is a major contributor to the town's growth. The large new quarter taking shape on the Dublin side of the village features cafés, bars, restaurants, boutiques and five supermarkets.
