One of the most attractive traditional buildings in Dublin's Temple Bar area, The Grain Store at Cecilia Street, is expected to make over £600,000 when it is auctioned on October 20th. It is one of the few remaining buildings available for redevelopment in Temple Bar, where tax incentives are not due to run out until April 1999. The building still has all its original features, including a brick facade with high level loading doors, internal timber floors and an old-style weighbridge at the first floor.

There are 4,230 sq ft over three floors in The Grain Store, which would be ideal for retail, office or residential use, according to Larry Brennan of HOK. It would also make a stylish studio. The building is located between Crown Alley and Meeting House Square close to Fitzers Cafe and Luigi Malone's restaurant. The Grain Store and an adjoining site was originally earmarked for a hotel but this plan has now been abandoned.
