The benefits of settling in Gorey

Upside

Upside

Gorey has plenty to offer for all age groups. The arts are particularly strong, with the town's newly-revamped theatre hosting dramatic and musical events all year round. Gorey Little Theatre Group, Gorey Musical Society and Gorey Choral Group are all looking for new members. Night life is well catered for. The town has a good variety of local pubs, most with live music. Summer in Gorey could be a mixed blessing, with the many holidaymakers adding to the crush on the main street - but to have Courtown and Ballymoney beaches on the doorstep is wonderful. Houses are very affordable compared with Dublin prices - you can find any type of house from a period cottage in the town centre to a modern mansion for half the cost.

Downside . . . and some of the negatives

The only noticeable downside to settling in Gorey is the long journey to Dublin. Making the trip daily could prove too much. If the town gets a rail link, this could be less of an ordeal.
