A total of 63 new homes are to be offered for sale off the plans this weekend at Swords, in north Dublin. Prices at Applewood Village will range from £115,995 to £147,995 for one-bedroom and twobedroom apartments, two-bedroom duplexes and three-bedroom townhouses. The initial phase will be ready for occupation from September to November this year. The entire development of 100 units will be completed within two years.

Ross McParland will be taking bookings at its Lucan and Donnybrook offices from today and show units will be ready to view at a later stage. To get an idea where the site is, potential buyers should turn left at the end of North Street in Swords and continue along Balheary Road to the Motorola factory. Left here and the Applewood scheme is just past the first roundabout. Balheary Road can also be reached from the Ashbourne roundabout on the Belfast Road.

The 18 first and second floor apartments for sale in this first phase vary in layout depending on position within the three low-rise blocks. Because of the large assortment of unit types and sizes, roofs are different levels and there is a pleasing lack of uniformity about the scheme.

One-bed apartments of 556 sq ft cost from £115,995 to £119,995. A typical unit has a small entrance lobby with the bathroom off it. The sittingroom incorporates the kitchen and the bedroom is a good sized double. An additional 12 garden level one-bed apartments of 580 sq ft with their own front door cost £119,995. They are larger than average, with a bay window in the bedroom and a 160 sq ft patio to the rear. The two-bed units measure from 672 sq ft to 760 sq ft and cost from £131,995 and £133,995. These have a sittingroom with a kitchen separated by a screen wall. One of the two large bedrooms has an en suite shower room. A separate bathroom is located off the entrance hallway.

A total of 13 two-bedroom duplexes of 870 sq ft are in a separate block over the garden apartments. Prices are from £137,995. The duplex layout includes a large sitting/diningroom with doors out to a 120 sq ft railed terrace large enough for a table and chairs. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms with the bathroom in between. There are 20 1,120 to 1,200 sq ft three-bedroom townhouses for sale in this phase, priced from £147,995. These will have their own patio gardens. A good-sized dining/kitchen is at the front of the house and there is a guest lavatory off the hall. The sittingroom spans the rear and has patio doors to the terrace. Upstairs, all three bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and the main room is en suite.
