Co Meath/from €232,950: The final 16 homes at the competitively priced Rathdale development in Enfield Co Meath are being launched this week through Sherry FitzGerald New Homes.

Prices start at €232,950 for three-bedroom plus study mid-terrace homes of 106.8 sq m (1,150 sq ft) while similar end-of-terrace units cost from €242,950. The homes are among the cheapest to go for sale in the greater Dublin area.

Rathdale, which has a mix of brick and render finishes, is located just off the main street in Enfield. It has 104 new homes, most of them four-bed semis, and the design aims to maximise space and light while providing larger than usual back gardens.

By car, Enfield is 23 miles from Dublin city centre, mainly along motorway. A rail service from the village to Dublin is due to be upgraded.

Village life has improved since the Enfield bypass came on stream a few years ago taking N4 traffic out of the main street.

Enfield has a good range of shopping and leisure facilities. There is also a local five-star hotel, Johnstown House Hotel.

Rathdale is located on a triangular-shaped site with a series of cul-de-sacs and a decent amount of open space.

Standard features include fitted wardrobes to all bedrooms, an en suite main bedroom, off-street car-parking, gas central heating and fitted kitchen units.

With many developments now offering a mix of apartments and duplexes, it is rare these days to find a traditional scheme of starter homes aimed at first-time buyers.

Rathdale is being developed by Killoe. Its previous schemes include Taylor's Hill, an upmarket development in Rathfarnham.
