CAR
It takes at least an hour and three-quarters, often more, to get to the city by car in rush hour. Drogheda is the first bottleneck. You make good time on the Balbriggan by-pass, but traffic comes to a stop at the end of this.
From Swords into town, it can take three-quarters of an hour. When the new road linking Dundalk with the Dunleer bypass is opened at the end of the year, things will improve a little.
Dundalk car commuters have to leave by 7 a.m. at the latest to be sure to get to work in time for a nine o'clock start.
