Tamorbrick, a division of Treasury Holdings, has come back with another planning application for a tourism and leisure facility at the 437-acre Milverton Demesne in Skerries, Co Dublin, which has a history dating back to the mid 16th century.

A previous planning application by Tamorbrick was unsuccessful earlier this year because it was deemed a serious overdevelopment of the lands which would have an impact on the demesne landscape.

This time around Treasury is looking to build a hotel with 100 suites and 50 bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, a gym with a 25-metre pool, a spa, treatment rooms and a conference facility in three blocks over four storeys.

The plan is also for two 18-hole golf courses and a nine-hole putting course, as well as a golf club house, 28 detached two-storey five/six-bedroom houses and two five/six-bedroom houses to replace Milverton House and a single storey cottage it proposes to demolish.

It is seeking to build 20 two to three-bed houses for tourist accommodation and a single storey estate management building, and convert a house and farm buildings (protected structures) to an administration building and stables/livery yard. Stables and outbuildings at Milverton House would be turned into a craft centre, five gate-lodges converted to administration use and two outbuildings converted to staff accommodation and offices.
