Dublin 16: from €415,000One of the final phases of apartments and penthouses at the popular Ballintyre scheme come to the market this week.

Selling agent Savills HOK is offering one and two-bedroom apartments and smart three-bedroom penthouses, with show units open for viewing this weekend.

Glenkerrin's upmarket development off Ballinteer Avenue in Dublin 14 has done phenomenally well since it was first launched in February 2005.

In total, the scheme - designed by McCrossan O'Rourke Manning - comprises 118 homes and 420 apartments.

The proximity of the Luas and Dundrum Town Centre, combined with the classy fit-out, are a major draw at the scheme.

Now a further 17 homes have come to the market. These will be the last units for sale at Ballintyre, bar the development of a courtyard mews scheme around Ballintyre Hall due to come on the market this autumn.

In this launch, one-bedroom apartments with 66-80sq m (710-861sq ft) are priced from €415,000 to €450,000.

Two-bedroom units with 74-91sq m (797-980sq ft) cost between €520,000 and €565,000.

Four of the two-bedroom apartments have an unusual curved living area, giving a funky touch.

The apartments have wide halls, good fitted wardrobes and spacious kitchens with high gloss units. Three-bedroom penthouses are exceptionally large with 114-230sq m (1,550-2,476sq ft) of living space.

Large reception rooms, vaulted ceilings, central vacuum systems, classy bathrooms and great views over the city or mountains feature.

They are priced from €895,000 to €1.2 million. The larger penthouses are very impressive and feature bling bathrooms with free-standing baths and double wash-hand basins.

In general, the standard fit-out at Ballintyre is impressive - recessed lighting, heated towel rails, decorative radiator covers and sandstone fireplaces with electric fires.

Maintenance fees range from €1,700-€2,000 a year. One and two-bedroom units come with one car-parking space and three-beds with two.

Off Ballinteer Avenue, the secluded and wooded site is close to the Dundrum Town Centre and the M50 while Superquinn is across the road. A new bus service links up with Balally Luas stop.
