New HomesA development of 25 detached houses at Rosslare Strand in easy reach of Dublin via the N11 and rail meets the criteria for the ideal weekend bolthole. A high standard of finish suggests that some will buy for permanent use; a strong community spirit and the attraction of village life could interest retirees in the latter option.
Joint agents Sherry FitzGerald Radford and Remax Fairview are taking bookings this Saturday at the Walsheslough site, which is a few minutes' from the beach and village shops.
Prices start at €425,000 for three-bedroom houses, €495,000 for four-beds and €650,000 for five-bedroom houses. Sizes range from 123sq m to 219sq m (1,324 to 2,357sq ft). All are detached and will have proper front and back gardens.
Standard of finish and specification by Northern developers BJWT is high by most standards and this has proved a strong selling point, with eight houses sold prior to the official launch date, mostly to Dubliners.
Five designs are on offer at Walsheslough and the builders are flexible with kitchens, fireplaces and general layout. A turnkey finish includes kitchens with appliances, good quality wood and tiled floors, fenced and seeded gardens and internal painting.
Roofs are of natural slate and oil-fired heating is part of the package. Exteriors will be painted a mint green colour.
The houses are designed with two en suite bedrooms, one downstairs, one with the main upstairs bedroom. Wardrobes are fitted and a ground floor study is included with the larger units.
Each house will also come wired for broadband internet and a plasma/LCD screen. Owners can upgrade to a surroundsound system and home cinema for an additional sum.
Individual completions are scheduled through to July next year, when The entire development is expected to be finished.
A four-bedroom showhouse will be open for viewing from 2 pm to 5 pm or by appointment.
