Lusk: Two, three and four-bedroom houses are launching this weekend at McGarrell Reilly's Lusk Village development - one of the fastest-selling schemes in north County Dublin last year.

The design by Conroy Crowe Kelly was intended to blend with the existing architecture, with village greens, curved stone walls and brightly coloured exteriors creating a timeless look. Buyers have responded with enthusiasm to the combination of traditional design and contemporary fit-out, with a regular train service to the city an added bonus.

Sherry FitzGerald New Homes will be taking bookings from today for 50 terraced, semi-detached and detached houses at Lusk Village, due for completion in late spring and early summer this year. Prices start at €227,500 for just three 85 sq m (915 sq ft) two-bedroom terraced houses, ideally-priced for first-time buyers.

Three-bedroom houses from 93 sq m (1,000 sq ft) to 110 sq m (1,180 sq ft) cost from €242,995, while top-of-the-range four-bedroom houses of 125 sq m (1,345 sq ft) start at €309,995.

There is a variety of different layouts and house styles within the development, some with decorative timber porches, others with arched pergolas for training climbers.

Pink, cream and stone facades and winding streetscapes recreate a village look.

The specification includes pine window frames, smart beech-look Alno kitchens, cherry wardrobes and gas central heating. This "village within a village" is beginning to mature and already has a community feel. Lusk Tidy Towns committee recently unveiled a bronze sculpture depicting the joining of hands, specially commissioned to welcome a new generation of residents to the village.

The improved M1 motorway has considerably shortened travelling time to the city from Lusk, which is convenient to Skerries, Malahide and Swords.

The new development is close to the Rush/Lusk train station and about 15 minutes from Dublin Airport. To access Lusk from the M1, take the exit for Skerries, Rush and Donabate.

Five showhomes will be open for viewing this weekend.
