VOGUE Wilson, star of RTÉ's reality show Fade Street, may soon have a new spot to lounge in. Viva Property Developers has applied to convert a building at the junction of Fade Street and Drury Street from office use to a licensed restaurant and a "multi-purpose event centre" with a bar.
The main man behind Viva is none other than Ronan McNamee, former head of Cuisine de France, who is also planning to redevelop the Creation Arcade off Grafton Street.
Viva had shareholders’ funds of more than €5.5m at the end of 2009, according to accounts filed with the Companies Office, and it owed McNamee more than €3.8m at that stage.
The area has become a hub of activity in recent years, with Declan O’Regan’s Hogans Pub, 3 Fade Street and lGueuleton drawing in the punters while a slightly older crowd opts for Jay Bourke, Eoin Foyle and John Reynolds’s Market Bar across the street.
