136 homes for redevelopment sites in Cabinteely and KillineyThe trend to knock old houses and replace them with apartments and townhouses continues. On the Brennanstown Road in Cabinteely, Dublin 18, Alan and Lynda McFarlane are looking to demolish two houses, Talblick and Navarone, and build 76 residential units in two blocks in a mix of apartments and four townhouses plus basement parking for 111 cars.
Nearby, in Glenamuck Road, Carrickmines, Dublin 18, Ian Murphy is seeking planning permission to knock two houses, Benolagh and Blackberry Hill. His proposal is to build 58 three-storey houses in a mix of semi-detached and detached homes, some with balconies to the front and terraces.
Meanwhile in Killiney, Brian Homan has been granted planning permission to demolish Cherry Hill, a four-bed house on Ballure Lane on Church Road and build two five-bed houses.
Bono gets green light to modify miniature castle next door
Mr and Mrs Paul Hewson, aka Bono and wife Ali, have been granted planning permission to remove the external steps to the side of Lios Beag, the miniature castle next door to their house on exclusive Vico Road in Killiney, Co Dublin, which is in a conservation area.
They've also been given the green light to build a conservatory and increase the width of the site entrance and replace the gates. The Hewsons bought Lios Beag in 2004 in an off-market deal, because it is believed he wanted maximum privacy.
€100m mixed-use scheme for D7
Pascal Conroy's Albion Properties Ltd is looking to build a €100 million mixed-se development at Grangegorman, Dublin 7. Albion is looking to build 220 apartments and 6,145sq m (66,144sq ft) of commercial space, a crèche, 287sq m (3,089sq ft) of retail and gallery space, 5,135sq m (55,273sq ft) of offices, and a restaurant, all in six blocks rising from two to 11 storeys. The proposal is also for 184 car-parking places.
The Dublin Institute of Technology campus will be located nearby. Albion Properties is currently redeveloping Phibsboro shopping centre.
