13-storey apartment scheme for site in Dublin 8 approved
A 13-storey apartment scheme in Dublin 8 has been given approval by planners in Dublin City Council. Flancrest Enterprises, owned by Michael McCabe and Edmond Moloney, has been given the all clear to develop a site at the corner of Bridgefoot Street and Island Street, beside the Pier 19 apartment development.
The scheme will incorporate 41 apartments, 80sq m (865sq ft) of office space and 842sq m (9,063sq ft) of retail space.
As part of the development, the building will be set back from the site boundaries to enable the footpaths to be widened and create space for tree planting and seating.
Six-storey office on Molesworth St
The O'Shea Partnership is looking for permission to build a six-storey office block on Molesworth Street in Dublin 2. This will double the office space to the rear of the site.
Bord says yes to large retail centre in Killarney
An Bord Pleanála has given approval for a retail development at the former Torc Great Southern hotel in Killarney.
Meadowlawn Properties has been given the all clear to build a 35,000sq m (376,736sq ft) retail development with two anchor stores and six retail units, a restaurant and basement parking for 563 cars.
Noting that it could be argued that the site was "not an ideal location for such a major scheme due to its relatively weak linkage with the main town centre area", the planning board inspector said the scheme would "represent a major addition to Killarney in terms of shopping provision".
