Council says yes to scheme in Blackrock

AFTER A LONG running planning saga dating back to 2003, developer John O'Connor has been granted planning permission by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council for a development of 24 apartments at Ferndene on Deansgrange Road, Blackrock, Co Dublin.

The house, which will be converted into two apartments, was formerly owned by Frank Cruess-Callaghan. He has had a long association with Waterford Stanley and also tried (unsuccessfully) to get planning permission for a residential development on the site and subsequently sold it to O'Connor.

The other apartments will be built in a new block.

It remains to be seen whether An Bord Pleanála will approve the scheme, should it be appealed.
