A major development at Pelletstown in north-west Dublin has been given the go-ahead by Dublin City Council.

Seán Mulryan's company, Ballymore Properties, has got the green light to build 602 residential units and 6,224 sq m (66,995 sq ft) of office space in three blocks on a five-hectare site near Ashtown. In 2002, Ballymore and Castlethorn got approval from An Bord Pleanála for around 1,400 apartments and houses in a new village centre at Pelletstown, on a 50-acre site, which is jointly owned by the two companies. The newly approved plan will include 11 shops, a crèche, restaurants, a pub and a 19-berth marina.

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has approved plans for a retail park at the former HB/Unilever site on Whitehall Road, Dublin 14. The retail park, to be developed by BYMAC Project Managers, will include an anchor DIY store, five retail warehouse units and a four-storey block housing a discount food store, gym, crèche, two cafés, offices and a restaurant. The plan includes the widening of Whitehall Road, adjustments to the Nutgrove Avenue/Whitehall Road junction and improvements to Nutgrove Avenue.

Permission is being sought for a 16-storey 239-bed hotel in Clonshaugh, 1.5 kms south of Dublin Airport. The Airport City Partnership is seeking permission from Fingal County Council to build the scheme on a 3.5-acre site adjacent to the M1/M50 interchange on Clonshaugh Road North.
