Agent GVA Donal O Buachalla is expecting widespread interest in a tax designated development site in Waterford city which is likely to make over £3 million when it is sold by tender on October 12th.
The 1.4-acre site at Canada Street was formerly used as a coal yard and fuel depot by Tedcastle Oil Products. It overlooks the People's Park and John's River, just south of the city centre. A development scheme which includes 138 apartments, over 30,000 sq ft of offices, and two retail units has been prepared and a certificate of compliance with the integrated area plan has been issued by Waterford Corporation, subject to the granting of planning permission. There is already planning permission on a small portion of the site for 22 residential units and two shops.
