It's hard to see the connection between the name of London furniture store Eat My Handbag Bitch and the 1940s to 1960s furniture it sells.
Interior designer Alyson Bailey told us about the store in Covent Garden, but there's also a website where you can see some of what's on offer: original Italian and Scandinavian tables, lighting, seating and storage by the likes of Alvar Aalto and Josef Hoffman (the real thing, not knock-offs).
At the moment, it has a great 1940s metal garden set. We wouldn't recommend ordering directly from the site - you really need to go over and check out the pieces. The staff are helpful - tell them what you're looking for and they invariably find it - but prices can get pretty steep after the sterling-to-euro conversion. www.eatmyhandbagbitch.co.uk.
