Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Jurassic Park. Okay, so maybe it's a little unfair to call the Mustang a dinosaur, especially being as a hybrid version will, allegedly, shortly be launched. Perhaps unfair too, when you consider that the base-model Mustang's 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine is actually pretty cutting edge stuff, and develops way more than the magic 100hp-per-litre figure.
Ah, but there really is only one Mustang isn’t there - the V8 version, and sadly that is fast becoming a dinosaur in the face of increasing (valid) concerns over climate change, and encroaching emissions legislation. Still, at least we get to go out on a high with that wonderful. non-turbo, 5.0-litre, 460hp V8 roaring and bellowing like a true Tyrannosaur.
Handling is… sort of optional, really and the cabin is woefully cheap and nasty in places (great seats though) but you won’t care when you remember just how good looking a car this is on the outside.
The 2.3 version actually the sharper to drive, and better value than you might think, but you honestly won’t care once you’ve heard the V8 roar.
