A weekly update on traffic conditions
DUBLIN
The new traffic lights on M1 between Shantalla Bridge and Coolock Interchange will be switched on and off intermittently to facilitate roadworks in the area. They will be like this until at least May/June. There is also a new yellow box junction in place. This new road layout will remain in place until at least September/December. This is due to work on the new Dublin Port Tunnel.
WICKLOW
The Roundwood to Enniskerry Road is closed between Annacarter Crossroads and Ballinastoe Junction until 9am next Monday. Local diversions will be in place.
WATERFORD
The Tramore Road will be closed from the Esso Garage on the Cork Road to the Tramore roundabout until early June. There is local access only and diversions are in operation.
Roadworks remain in place on Mattie's Hill at Vincent White's roundabout until the end of April. There are no restrictions.
CORK
Delays should be expected with roadworks on Washington Street at South Main. Traffic is reduced to one lane in both directions. There is no right turn from South Main Street (on the North Main Street side) onto Washington Street. Traffic approaching from Castle Street and North Main Street will be diverted via Liberty Street and Court House Street. Access to Western Road is via Sullivan's Quay, Sharman Crawford Street, Wandesford Quay, St Finbarrs Bridge and Lancaster Quay. This system be in place for six weeks until about April 24th. The left turn from Grand Parade onto Washington St has been reinstated.
Roadworks are in operation on the N71 Cork-Bandon Road from Dunnes Stores to the Viaduct. They will continue until April and delays are likely. Motorists are advised to allow extra time to complete their journeys.
OFFALY
A new pedestrian crossing will come into operation on the N7 in Moneygall Village.
A new traffic light system is coming into operation on the N52 in Birr, at the junction with Townsend Street and Pound Sreet.
