Corser signs up for BMW team

Australian rider Troy Corser has signed to ride the all-new BMW S 1000 RR in next year's Superbike World Championships.

The former double Superbike World Champion has agreed terms for two years and ends months of speculation as to who will join Spaniard Ruben Xaus in BMW's debut in the Superbike World Championship next season

Schumacher on two wheels

Michael Schumacher has tested the Ten Kate Hannspree Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade Carlos Checa is currently riding for the World Superbike championships.

The seven-time Formula 1 champion has been racing motorcycles since his retirement from F1 in 2006. He has raced a Honda CBR 1000 RR in this season's IDM Superbike series.He said after he tested: "It was interesting to see how a professional superbike team works. It was difficult to understand the machinery fully with such a short amount of time but it was a great experience."

Ducati unveils its Monsters

Ducati has unveiled its Monster 1100 and 1100 S models. These bikes use the same 1100cc Desmodromic engine found in the Hypermotard and Multistrada. The Monster unit produces 95bhp at 7,500 rpm, and 79.5 lb-ft of torque at 6,000rpm. The 1100S features fully adjustable 43mm titanium nitride-coated Ohlins forks, and an Ohlins rear shock.
