Unveiling the new Bimota DB8

Based on the DB7 superbike, this machine appears to follow the same principle as the Aprilia Tuono, with street-fighter handlebars instead of clip-ons and a small nose fairing instead of full plastics. The frame, swingarm, suspension and brakes are the same as the DB7. The new Bimota will be unveiled properly at the Milan Motorcycle Show in November.

Honda is set to launch its new CBF125 at the end of the year. With fuel prices volatile and responsibility for the environment weighing down the public conscience, more and more people are considering the motorbike for transport.

According to Honda, its new 125 is "fun, fast and hassle-free". Its fuel-injected engine will deliver plenty of power and torque for a pleasurable ride through the city and it complies within EURO-3 level emission stipulations.

Getting an image of biking's greats

Popular road-racing photographer Stephen Davison launched his new book in Belfast and Dublin last week.

Hard Roads is packed with spectacular action shots of daring road racers. Davison also includes some poignant pictures of riders recently killed, including Martin Finnegan, Robert Dunlop, Darran Lindsay and Richard Britton.
