Harley unveils its 2009 line-up

Among the new Harley-Davidson range is a brand-new V-Rod, and some updates to its touring models.

The V-Rod Muscle is an aggressive motorcycle with a 1250cc Revolution V-Twin engine. It has a massive 240- section rear tyre and rear fender and silver five-spoke cast aluminium front and rear wheels.The front has a trimmed, blacked-out fender and inverted forks and integrated LED turn signals in the mirror stems.

It also has a new, deeper seat; forward foot controls; and a new handlebar with internal wiring.

The V-Rod Muscle is available in Vivid Black, Brilliant Silver, Dark Blue Denim and Red Hot Sunglo.

Harley-Davidson has also made a series of detailed changes to their eight-bike Softail range. According to the manufacturer: "Each model features the six-speed Cruise Drive transmission for outstanding mid-range torque and relaxed engine speed when cruising." The updated Heritage Softail Classic features taller handlebars, "cat eye" console and optional chrome aluminium profile laced wheels.

The Dyna Street Bob has been restyled with a newly chopped rear fender, a blacked-out powertrain and an LED tail-light. The 2009 Dyna Fat Bob features high- performance chrome- covered coil-over rear shocks.

Ulster Grand Prix revs up

Don't miss one of the major events in the road-racing calendar next week, August 11th-16th. The Ulster Grand Prix, now in its 86th year, takes place on the Dundrod circuit, near Belfast.
