Seat's new mid-sized saloon based on Audi A4 - but with latest engines
Seat is to build a new mid-sized saloon - to compete with the likes of the Ford Mondeo and the new Opel Insignia. The Spanish firm, owned by the Volkswagen Group, says the new car will be called the Exeo, to be pronounced "ex-ay-o".
The Exeo is going to be based around the architecture of the previous generation Audi A4 - although fitted with the latest engines. The car is expected to go on sale early next year. An estate version is also expected in due course.
Fiat apologies to China for ad upset
Fiat has apologised to China for its new television advert that includes scenes of Tibet and Richard Gere, the Hollywood actor who is an outspoken critic of the country.
Still, the Italian carmaker said it would continue to air the advert in Europe and expressed support for Gere, whom was chosen "because he is a symbol of difference." The advertisement promoting the Lancia brand aired on prime-time Italian television during the European football championship this week. It provoked an angry response in China.
"Fiat reiterates its neutrality in connection with any political matter, be it on a national or international basis," Fiat said in a statement that extended apologies to the Chinese government and people.
