IRISH 66ERS GATHER FOR THE PRESIDENT
Prior to their visit with President Mary McAleese at Áras an Uachtarán on Monday morning next, the fundraising biker's group the Irish 66ers will gather at Temple Street Children's Hospital.

Since their inaugural run down America's Route 66 in October 2002, this bi-annual charity challenge has raised over $1 million.

The October 2006 event was the biggest to date with 64 motorcycles and 93 people completing the 4,000kms from Chicago to Santa Monica, Los Angeles. All the 66ers, including Fair City's David Mitchell, Aer Arann's Padraig O Ceidigh and 2FM's Jenny Huston, will reunite for this well deserved acknowledgement.

Such is the interest in the 2008 Challenge that there are few remaining places. Details can be found online at route66.ie or call the fundraising office on 01-8784344.
