Electric bikes planned by Roehr
AMERICAN SPORT motorcycle company Roehr Motorcycles will manufacture two electric sport motorcycles this year, the eSuperbike and eSupersport. “Both models will feature state-of-the-art AC induction motor and advanced high energy, lithium ion battery technologies,” said Roehr.
The eSuperbike features 96hp, 210lb/ft of torque and a10 Kwh, lithium iron phosphate battery pack. The eSupersport has 48hp, 105lb/ft of torque, an AC induction motor, with a high-energy 6Kwh lithium iron phosphate battery pack.
The eSuperbike, with a 100mph top speed, will be the basis of Roehr Motorcycles’ entry into the upcoming 2010 US TTXGP series. Race-prepared versions of the eSuperbike will be offered for teams or individuals competing in the upcoming TTXGP and FIM e-Power racing series.
Grace launches eco-friendly bike
BERLIN-BASED motorbike company Grace has launched the eco-friendly E-motorbike, running off lithium ion batteries and powered by a 1300-watt motor.
It has a top speed of 30mph and batteries take just an hour to charge and have a range of around 31 miles. Priced €5,877, see grace.de for details.
