Legal executive Tina Ennis waxes lyrical about her first motorbike - a Suzuki GN125
I'm 32 years old, married with one son. Passed my motorbike test last November. Training for advanced motorbike driving test.
What was your first machine?
A Suzuki GN125, got it when I was 30. Now I have a Suzuki GS500E - it's one of the biggest bikes I can drive on my licence, which is a full licence though restricted by new regulations. It cost £4,000. Once I have complied with the restriction for 2 years I'll get something bigger, faster and flasher!
What attracted you to it?
Ease of travelling through traffic. Less work than cycling, quicker than a car.
How much did it cost?
£2,500.
What did the insurance cost?
£500.
What do you use it for?
Commuting to work in Dublin, leisure trips at weekends, most travelling requirements. I hope to go touring in England this summer.
How much did you spend on gear?
Helmet £400, boots £150, jacket £250, leather trousers £120, waterproof trousers £90, gloves - a present, luggage tail pack £80, wheel lock £45, padlock and chain £110.
What's your next upgrade?
Undecided but I'm having a good time contemplating all options. I'm especially interested in a Suzuki GSXR600 or a Yamaha Fazer 600.
