PJ Purcell bought his new Peugeot 207 HDi from Bluebell Motor Company Peugeot and while he had intended to buy a new 207, which was to be a second car in the family, he says that the scrappage deal meant that the car became much more affordable.
“I traded in a 1998 Opel Corsa and it was lucky that the scrappage came in just at the right time. I decided on the 207 because my father had bought one and then I went for the diesel because of the low emissions. I saved an extra €2,000 buy buying the car through the scheme than if I had went for the car a few months earlier,” says Purcell. “The whole process was very easy in terms of scrappage, the garage did the whole thing for me after I signed a few forms.”
