Land Rover reveals its new Discovery at the New York car show today.

When it arrived 15 years ago, the Discovery was meant to be an affordable Range Rover.

This latest incarnation seems to be the closest Land Rover has come to achieving that ambition. Land Rover has always played up its off-road pedigree (against mainstream "imitators") and so the new Discovery 3 also features a new four-wheel drive system know as Terrain Response, providing five settings which adapt to different conditions.
