Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN:
From Thursday 12th January to Thursday the 23rd of February inclusive, a section of Farmersvale Road (Blackchurch Lane), Rathcoole, will be closed at its junction with N7 Naas Road and Windmill Hill Road. Alternative routes are via: Whitehouse Lane, Windmill Hill Road, Farmersvale Road, Turf Bog Lane, N7 (Naas Road). Diversion signs will be erected. Local access will be maintained at all times. The closure is in order to facilitate the construction of the link roads feeding Steelstown interchange south including the new Farmersvale road and a residential/Blackchurch Inn access & Egress Road.
Until Friday, January 13th, Military Road is closed to traffic from its junction with Khyber Road to Acres Road daily from 9am to 4pm. This is to facilitate road works. Traffic into the Phoenix Park through the Islandbridge gate will only be able to turn right.
KILDARE:
Roadworks on the N9 are continuing at Castledermot. They will be in 24-hour operation until further notice. Single-lane traffic will operate during the day and temporary lights at night.
MEATH:
Until at least January 24th, work is underway in Navan from the Round 'O' roundabout to the N3.
As a result the one-way system is in operation on the Navan Inner Relief Road.
This is in order to facilitate the provision of an additional lane. There is no left turn on the N3 from Kells at the Fire Station and no through road from Abbey Road to the Round 'O' roundabout. Traffic from the Slane Road/Proudstown Road proceeds as usual.
CORK:
Until Monday, January the 23rd, the R617 in Blarney Village is closed between the Blarney Park Hotel and Supervalue.
The alternative route is via Blarney Relief Road. The purpose of the temporary closure is to complete stormwater pipeline construction as part of the Blarney R617 resurfacing and improvements work.
LIMERICK:
Until March 3rd, 2006, Honan's Quay is closed from its junction with Bedford Row to its intersection with Liddy Street (under Sarsfield Bridge).
This closure is necessary to facilitate the completion of sewer rehabilitation work at Honan's Quay and Sarsfield Street. The diversion is via Bedford Row and motorists are advised to avoid the Quays during the above periods, and divert onto Henry Street via Lower Cecil Street and Mount Kenneth.
Until 6pm Wednesday, March 1st, the LP1112 route at Annacotty village is completely closed.
This is to facilitate road improvement works for 250 metres at Annacotty Village. Diversions are clearly signposted and local traffic is accommodated.
SLIGO:
Until further notice, roadworks will take place on the N17 south of Tubbercurry at Rue.
Traffic management will be in operation and motorists are requested to exercise caution.
WATERFORD:
Road realignment works will continue on the N25 at Kinsalebeg until June and traffic disruptions can be expected.
