Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN:
From Monday, August 14th, until Monday, August 21st, Ballycullen Rd is closed. Alternative routes: Oldcourt Rd and Avenue, and Killininny Rd.
From today until Friday August 11th from 10pm until 6am, Monastery Rd to N7 Naas Road will be reduced to one lane, as part of the M50 Upgrade Scheme Contract 1.
Tomorrow and Friday, from 7.30pm to 6am on each night, the right-turn from the Naas Rd to the LUAS car park will close. Traffic will divert via the Red Cow Roundabout.
On Saturday, August 12th, lane 1 on N4 Lucan Rd into the city centre will be closed from 10pm to 6am, for barrier installation, and again on Monday, 21st August 21st, to allow for removal of barrier.
Also on Saturday August 12th, N7 Naas Rd outbound towards Red Cow Roundabout will be one lane from 10pm to 6am for barrier re-location and white lining.
New road layout on N7 outbound to Red Cow roundabout both day and night from Sunday, August 13th, to Friday, September 1st, 2006, for a gas main diversion.
From Monday, August 14th, to Saturday, September 9th, Murphystown Rd from Kilgobbin Road junction to Leopardstown Road junction closed. Alternative route via Kilgobbin Rd and Leopardstown Rd and visa versa.
From Monday, August 14th to Saturday, August 26th, Glenamuck Rd closed from junction with Glenamuck Cottages and Enniskerry Rd, for gas works. Alternative route via Enniskerry Rd, Kilgobbin Rd and Ballyogan Rd & vice versa.
From today until Sunday August 13th, from 7am to 7pm, Simmonscourt Road temporarily closed between Door H and Gate O of the Royal Dublin Society. Diversion routes: traffic on Merrion Rd for Donnybrook, will divert via Anglesea Rd. Traffic on Anglesea Rd for Merrion Rd will divert via Ailesbury Rd.
KILKENNY:
From August 11th to August 20th Kilkenny Arts Festival will take place in Kilkenny city. Expect delays on all approaches to Kilkenny - including the N9, N10, N77 and N76.
KERRY:
From tomorrow until Saturday, August 12th the Puck Fair takes place in Killorglin. Delays likely on the following routes: N22 from Cork, N72 from Killarney and the N70 from Tralee.
CORK:
Merchants Quay closed eastbound from 6am to 6pm until Friday, August 26th, for works on the footpath.
Douglas Road closed until 5pm Friday, August 11th from Rhodaville Estate to Clermont Avenue for resurfacing.
Knapps Square is closed until Saturday August 12th.
Redforge Road closed inbound from Fitz's Boreen to Brother Delaney Road to 8pm August 18th.
Until Friday August 11th, Maryborough Hill Rd closed for resurfacing. Southbound traffic - alternative route: After passing Broadale Estate and at High Acre, take a left on to the LP2472 to Moneygourney, turn right on to LS6466 to Hilltown, and left on to LP2470 on to Raffeen Hill to connect with N28. Or travel via Carr's Hill (LP2469) to N28 and on to Shannon Park Roundabout.
Northbound traffic: at Shannon Park remain on the N28 to Douglas slip-off and travel on Carr's Hill (LP2469) to Fingerpost roundabout.
