Routes to avoid around the country over the next week

DUBLIN:

Resurfacing work will be carried out on the Ballyfermot Road between the Le Fanu junction and the Kylemore Roundabout until Friday October 4th between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. There will be a traffic diversion for eastbound traffic during the works. The diversion applies to bus routes also. Bus users should note that there is a temporary bus stop on the Le Fanu Road in place of the Bus stop in front of the main shopping area on the Ballyfermot Road.

The layout of the Enniskerry Road in Stepaside (north of Burrow Road) will be altered to facilitate the construction of a new roundabout on September 30th.

Traffic will have to divert via Ballyedmonduff, Enniskerry Rd and Stepaside.

Work on the €20 million project to replace the East Wall Road Bridge continues over the weekend from 1.10 a.m. on Saturday till 4.45 a.m. next Monday. The rail line will be closed between Connolly and the Clontarf Road. A limited service will operate on Drogheda suburban routes and northside DARTs with bus connections between Clontarf Road and Tara Street.

The Belfast Enterprise will have a full service with bus transfers between Drogheda and Dublin. Clontarf Road Station car park will be closed during these works.

LOUTH:

Ongoing works will continue on the N1 north of Drogheda at the edges and in the centre of the road until approximately October 3rd.

CORK:

Single lane restrictions will operate on the Jack Lynch Tunnel until October 8th in order to facilitate minor repair works to the tunnel. Most of the restrictions apply at off-peak times; 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. and from 6.30 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning.

WICKLOW:

The road between Rathnew and Glenealy will be reduced to one lane - as needs be - in order to facilitate the construction of a new bridge for the Rathnew bypass between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. until the end of October.

CARLOW:

Resurfacing works on the N9 four miles west of Carlow town between Millford Cross and Leighlinbridge are to continue until Sunday (approximately). A stop/go system is in operation during the week days between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m./7 p.m.

LIMERICK:

Pipes are being laid on the Dublin Road at Castletroy outside the Hurlers Pub until approximately the end of September. Restrictions are operating 24 hours a day. Limerick bound traffic is reduced to a single lane with Dublin bound traffic diverting at Groody Roundabout via the University. These works have caused delays of up to half an hour at peak times. Expect delays on the N21 Limerick/Tralee Road with roadworks at Abbeyfeale until March 2003.
