DUBLIN:

The Dublin City Marathon is on Bank Holiday Monday, October 28th. The race takes place between approximately 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., a route of 26 miles that circles the south, west and north of Dublin city. The route starts at Nassau Street. The following roads will be closed: Kildare St (6 a.m. - 9 a.m.), Dawson St (6 a.m. - 9 a.m.), Dawson St (9.30 a.m. - 6 p.m.), Nassau St (6 a.m. - 6 p.m.), Frederick St (6 a.m. - 6 p.m.), Clare St (6 a.m. - 6 p.m.), Merrion Sq Nth (8.30 a.m. - 6 p.m.), Merrion Sq West (finish at 6 p.m.), Merrion St Upr (6 a.m. - 6 p.m.) Suir Bridge (10 a.m. - 1.30 p.m.), Phibsboro Rd (10.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.).

There will be cones on: Stillorgan Rd (bus lane from Donnybrook Church to Flyover, Flyover to Fosters Av), Terenure Rd East (bus lane), Templeogue Rd, Templeville/Templeogue, Wainfort Roundabout (runners on the wrong side of road), Wellington Roundabout (runners on the wrong side of road), Drimnagh Rd, Suir Rd, Grattan Cres, Chapelizod Bridge, Phibsboro Rd, Frederick St to D'Olier St, Grafton St to Dawson St.

Work continues over the weekend on the €20 million project to replace the East Wall Road Bridge, the country's most struck bridge. Northside DART and Drogheda suburban services will operate a limited timetable, with bus transfers between Tara Street and Clontarf Road.

The Belfast Enterprise will have a full service with bus transfers between Connolly & Drogheda. All bus transfers will depart up to 40 minutes earlier than normal timetable.

The Strand Road at Sutton DART Station has been temporarily closing for a number of weekends in order to construct a portion of the North Fringe Pipeline. This is the final week of the closure and it will be in place from 8 p.m. on Friday until 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

There is a diversion on the M1 on the Balbriggan Bypass at the Walshstown exit to complete the motorway. All southbound traffic must divert from the southbound overtaking lane 500 metres north of the Walshtown Interchange. Northbound traffic should follow the diversion route to rejoin the Ballbriggan Bypass, 150 metres north of Walshtown Overbridge.

MEATH:

The second phase of new road safety measures on the N2 through Slane Village and the approaches to Slane Bridge are now in place. There has been a history of accidents associated with the approaches to Slane Bridge. Most accidents have occurred on the northern approach to the bridge. New measures include new traffic lights at the village square at the N2/N51 junction.

CAVAN:

Resurfacing work is in place on the N3, one mile outside Lavey on the Cavan side. Traffic controls are in place until approximately November 13th.

KILKENNY:

Temporary lights and roadworks continue on the N78 Castlecomer to Athy Road at Crettyard until the end of October at least.

GALWAY:

Repair works on the N65 at Portumna Bridge will continue daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday, until November 1st.
