Routes to avoid around the country in the week ahead:
DUBLIN:
There is no right turn from Naas Road onto the Kylemore Road/Walkinstown Avenue junction until at least November 30th. Traffic has to access the road via the Longmile Road. Lane restrictions will be in place at the vicinity of the junction.
Watch out for LUAS works in a number of areas around the capital - there are diversions on Davitt Road and traffic is one-way out of town. There is also a new traffic management system at Suir Road junction to facilitate road crossings.
There are lots of LUAS works taking place in the Ranelagh area - on Grand Parade, Northbrook Road, Dartmouth Road, Ranelagh Road, Dunville Avenue and Charleston Road. All may add time to your journey.
Since Wednesday, November 13th and for about four to five weeks there are temporary lights on the Sandyford Road into the village for ESB work. Flagmen will operate at various times including peak hours.
There are lane restrictions at Glenamuck Road for the construction of the South Eastern Motorway roundabout. There are lane restrictions (one-way shuttle system) until December 15th.
In the South Circular Road area, Darley's terrace will be closed from Number 37 Darley's Terrace to Donore Avenue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day from Monday, November 25th to Saturday, November 30th.
This is to facilitate the construction of ramps. Traffic to and from Darley's Terrace is to use the other entrance from Darley's Terrace to Donore Avenue.
On Thursday, November 28th, the World Wrestling Allstars comes to the Point Depot. Expect delays on route to the Point Depot because of this popular event, especially around the Eastlink Tollbridge, on North Wall Quay and the East Wall Road.
MEATH:
Roadworks in Ratoath from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and each evening from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. There is a diversion for traffic through Meadowbank Estate 24 hours a day. Delays are likely as a result of roadworks that are in place on the road between Clonee and Lucan from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, including weekends.
The works have been in place for a number of weeks and are scheduled to finish by approximately November 28th, but due to current weather conditions this time may be extended. There are temporary lights in the area, which are moving along the road as the work proceeds. Take care on your approach to this road, as it is normally a narrow area but with the nature of works the surface can be in bad condition in patches.
CORK:
Citybound traffic has been reintroduced to Western Road and Mardyke Walk is open only at the Eastern end.
There are restrictions on Patrick Street in each direction from Lavitts Quay junction to the Savoy Centre until the end of December. Traffic has been moved to the western side of Patrick Street and reduced to one lane in each direction from Lavitts Quay junction to the Savoy Centre.
There is a restriction blocking access onto Kennedy Quay from Albert Quay. It will be in place until end of December.
The road layout has been changed on the Cork side of Youghal on the N25 due to work on the new bypass. Care needed as drivers get used to the changes.
LEITRIM:
Roadworks on the road linking Carrick-On- Shannon with Bundoran, two miles north of Manorhamilton. Delays can be expected as a result until approximately December 18th.
DONEGAL:
Roadworks on the N15, Donegal Road at Ballybofey. Temporary traffic lights will be in place while the works are being completed.
KILDARE:
On the M9 some care is needed as the lighting is not working to its full capacity in the tunnel on the northbound lane of the Kilcullen Link Road following an accident. Motorists need to turn on their lights on approach even though there is some emergency lighting in the tunnel. This will be ongoing until further notice.
WATERFORD:
Kilbarry Road, which is off the Cork Road, will be closed until the end of November approximately with local diversions in operation. Lismore Park is closed from its junction at Tir Connell Avenue to the junction at Paddy Brownes Road (at the phone box). The road is closed until approximately December 4th with local diversions in place.
